Instructions for Using and Caring for Berlinger Haus Cookware

Instructions for Using and Caring for Berlinger Haus Cookware

📚 Introduction Berlinger Haus cookware is constructed from multiple layers of specially developed and carefully selected materials. Our cookware starts with a base of cast aluminum alloy. The molten metal is poured into molds under high pressure to ensure it never deforms, creating an ideally flat base for even heat distribution. The base is then sandblasted to prepare it for a layer of plasma coating. This coating eliminates oxidation and forms an exceptionally strong bond with our proprietary non-stick coating. Finally, each piece is finished with three layers of our latest, reinforced non-stick coating, which is PFOA-free.

🍳 General Use Use the right cookware for your stove.

For best results and maximum energy efficiency, match the base diameter of your cookware with the correct burner or hob size.

Gas Stoves: Ensure the flame is centered under the cookware. DO NOT allow the flame to extend up the sides of the cookware. Electric Cooktops: Always ensure the base of your cookware and your cooktop are clean before use. Never drag or push your cookware as this can scratch your cooking surface. Induction Cooktops: Always ensure the base of your cookware and the cooktop are clean before use. Failure to do so may result in permanent marks.

🔥 Temperature and Heating Use low to medium heat.

Due to the excellent thermal conductivity of Berlinger Haus cookware, high heat is never necessary. Start with low heat and adjust slightly upwards if needed. Always place your cookware in the center of the heating surface.

Preheating: For optimal performance, place the pan on low and slowly increase to medium heat, preheating for 3 minutes. After this time, you can add your food and reduce the burner during the cooking process.

Do Not Overheat: Overheating will damage the cooking surface and change the exterior color. Overheating damage is not covered by warranty.

🍽 Using Appropriate Utensils Silicone and wooden tools are highly recommended. Do not use sharp or pointed tools. Do not chop or cut in the cookware. Small scratches do not reduce the performance of the cookware and are not covered by warranty.

Utensils During Cooking: Do not leave utensils in cookware during cooking. Use a spoon rest.

🥄 Using Cooking Oils Berlinger Haus cookware is designed for cooking with minimal oil. If you choose to use oil, heating it above its smoke point or to the point where the oil burns will gradually build up a thin layer of oil residue on your cookware surface. This can carbonize over time and interfere with the non-stick properties of the cookware.

Avoid Cooking Sprays: They can cause carbonization even at relatively low temperatures.

🔒 Cookware Safety Never leave cookware unattended on a hot stove. Never let cookware reach a boil without water. Turn handles sideways away from the stove edge to prevent accidents or injuries.

🧽 Daily Cleaning Wash your cookware thoroughly by hand with hot soapy water using a nylon brush, nylon scrub pad, or soft clean cloth or sponge.

Note: Berlinger Haus cookware is not dishwasher safe. We recommend avoiding the dishwasher due to the harsh chemicals in dishwasher detergent.

Never use metal or abrasive scrub pads or harsh chemicals.

Hand dry with a soft clean cloth and ensure the cookware is completely dry before storage.

🛠 Removing Stubborn Food and Oil Buildup Over time, you may notice dark buildup on the cookware surface. A thin layer of food and oil residue can remain on the surface and may carbonize with repeated heating. This does not damage the cookware but can be very difficult to remove.

Recommended Treatment with Baking Soda:

  1. Mix a solution of baking soda and water with the consistency of toothpaste.
  2. Rub this solution into the pan where you see the dark buildup.
  3. Scrub vigorously with a nylon brush or scrub pad or a soft clean cloth or sponge.
  4. Rinse, wash with hot soapy water, and dry thoroughly.

Never use oven cleaner or other harsh chemicals as they will ruin the non-stick surface.

Cleaning the Exterior and Base The following homemade solution can be used to remove buildup on the exterior and base:

  1. Mix a solution of 1 liter (1 quart) of water + 3 tablespoons (45 ml) of natural acid like lemon juice, cream of tartar, or white vinegar.
  2. Bring this solution to a boil and then carefully use it on a nylon brush or scrub pad to clean the exterior and base.
  3. Rinse, wash with warm soapy water, rinse again, and dry thoroughly.

🛒 Daily Maintenance and Storage Remove your food and carefully fill your hot cookware with about 2 inches of hot water. Place the pan on a heat-resistant surface.

Empty the pan and hand wash it thoroughly with hot soapy water using a nylon brush, nylon scrub pad, or soft clean cloth or sponge.

Never use metal or abrasive scrub pads or harsh chemicals.

Hand dry with a soft clean cloth and ensure the cookware is completely dry before storage.

Storage:

If stacking your pans, place a clean paper towel, cloth towel, or felt pan protectors between pieces of cookware before storage to preserve the non-stick surface.

If necessary, handles can be tightened with a cross-head screwdriver.

By following these cleaning and maintenance instructions, you will be able to enjoy your Berlinger Haus cookware for many years. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we strive to provide you with the best products and services.
